Adrian News 09-30-20

Fall is officially here!  I am honestly waiting for it to freeze to kill all of the no-seeums that have materialized from out of the woodwork.  You can’t even enjoy these nice days we’ve had without getting eaten alive.  Things are definitely looking like fall-in our gardens, our lawns and in the fields!  Watch out for the farmers who are deep in harvest.  They have a lot on their minds!

Our deepest sympathy to the family of Virgil Cook.  Virgil passed away on September 23rd.  His presence around Adrian will definitely be missed.  God bless the memory of Virgil Cook.

Also our sympathy to the family of Jerome Wieneke who passed away on September 24.  God bless the memory of Jerome Wieneke.

Do you know if you are going to go to the polls to vote on Nov. 3 or use a mail-in ballot?  If voting by mail, be sure to give your ballot plenty of time to get there and to be counted.  The sooner the better!

Tony and Darla Parsley are again collecting coats, boots, mittens and hats from now through October.  If you have gently used coats of any size or winter clothing, please drop them off at 517 Maine Ave.

If you are looking for a meal, or help with a meal, contact the Senior Dining Center.  It has been struggling through COVID just like everyone else.  Our numbers are way done and we don’t want to lose it!

Mitchell Wagner is continuing to make good strides in his recovery.  On Caring Bridge, Melanie reported that according to Mitchell’s nurses, he sang the lyrics to a favorite song.  Keep those prayers coming!  Keep on fighting Mitchell!

Please continue to pray for others in our communities that need extra prayers.  The COVID count continues to inch upward and with elections coming, we need lots of prayers!   Prayer Warriors–do your work!

Be sure to check out the ad in this weeks paper for the upcoming classes for your phone.  The space is limited to ten, and masks will be required.  Sign up now!

Thought for the week:  Feeling a smug satisfaction when people get their just deserts is so human.  People must live with the consequences of their actions.  God, being merciful, calls us to turn, repent and to live.  An accounting will take place.  God is not content allowing us to suffer what we caused, but calls us to live in righteousness and compassion and so to experience life.

Have a good week!
