Adrian Elementary students have teamed up with Nobles Cooperative Electric to promote the use of energy efficient lighting by offering Compact Fluorescent Light Bulbs (CFL) to the public in a unique fundraising opportunity. Beginning October 19th AES will have available two types of CFL light bulbs. The 13 watt CFL replaces the traditional 60 incandescent watt bulb, and the 26 watt replaces the 100 watt incandescent bulb. These bulbs are up to 75% more efficient than traditional incandescent bulbs. This is a unique opportunity to replace traditional bulbs in your home with CFL bulbs. Each bulb sells for $2.00, and the school keeps $1.00 from each sale. The CFL bulbs being sold are guaranteed for two years from the date of purchase, and the price of each bulb is significantly less than normal retail prices. The advertised life span of these bulbs is eleven years.

If you would like to purchase bulbs please contact Adrian Elementary at 507-483-2225 or stop in when it is convenient. Please let us know how many 13 watt and 26 watt bulbs you would like, and we will be able to fill your order immediately, as we have them on hand at the school. We will sell CFL bulbs during Parent/Teacher Conferences on November 9th and continue throughout the school year.

The best part of this partnership with Nobles Cooperative Electric is the opportunity to help our students gain a better understanding of the importance of conserving our natural resources. Nobles Cooperative Electric staff members Tracey Haberman and Adam Tromblay visited AES recently and presented educational materials we can use in our classrooms. In addition, they are available to come and speak to our students about ways to conserve energy. Our students and staff at Adrian Elementary are excited about this opportunity to partner with Nobles Cooperative Electric to promote energy conservation in our school district.
