Congratulations to newlyweds Matt and Chris (Timmer) Loosbrock who were married at St. Catherine’s Catholic Church in Luverne on Saturday.  It was a picture perfect day for a wedding and many guests turned out to celebrate with the couple.  The Loosbrocks are at home in rural Lismore.  

Brad Krogman, Maple Grove, spent September 12th in the home of Tom & Mary Krogman. Together they attended the Ducks Unlimited Banquet in Adrian.  Each year the Krogman’s donate a Remington 870 in honor of their father, Buck Krogman.  This year the gun was won by Drake Kruger, son of Ryan & Lisa Kruger of Adrian.

The American Legion Auxiliary will have their first meeting of the 2012-2013 year on September 19th beginning at 7:00 p.m. in the Lismore Legion Hall.

Dave Lutmer and Gary Heidebrink enjoyed lunch at the Lismore Bar on Friday.  Gary was the manager of the 5-Star Fertilizer plant in the 70’s & 80’s before moving with his wife, Diana, to Peach Tree City, Georgia.  They have since returned to Minnesota and now make their home in Victoria.  Gary was in the area to attend his 55-year high school class reunion and decided to also participate in the Turkey Trot in Worthington.

Friends of Chad V. Wieneke are sponsoring a memorial shoot-out on Saturday, September 22nd at the Luverne Gun Club, followed by a BBQ Pork Loin supper in the Lismore Park.   Registration is at 12:30 with the 2-man team trap tourney beginning at 1:00 p.m.  There is a chance to win a new Browning shotgun as well as other raffle items and games.  Tickets are available from Chad’s mother, Jackie, by calling 472-8705.    All proceeds will benefit Chad’s son, Joshua. On Saturday, Galen & Ruth Krogman rode to Clear Lake, IA for a fish fry at the cabin of Galen’s sister & husband, Joan & Grant Fairchild.  Their son, Hank, and daughter, Emily & husband, Brian, were there as well. Ike Krogman and granddaughter, Lilly, spent the day along with Alanna (Krogman) Kirt, who summered at a cabin on the southeast side of Clear Lake.  Alanna returned to her new home in Venice, FL on Sunday.

This coming weekend is the “Lismore-Twin Cities” Golf Outing and Social on Saturday, September 22 at the Brookview Golf Club in Golden Valley, MN.  There will be a four person best ball followed by a time to socialize at Doolittle’s.  Lismore natives (and the surrounding areas, too!) along with spouses/friends are invited to gather and share stories about the good old days as well as what’s going on currently in their lives.  This is not a class reunion--it’s a “Lismore-athon”!! Come spend the day.  You don’t have to golf. Colleen & Dustin Schlagel and Tori & Ty were weekend guests in the home of their parents, Tom & Mary Krogman.  On Saturday morning they celebrated Tori’s 6th birthday before attending the wedding of their nephew and cousin, Matt Loosbrock in the afternoon.

Brad Loosbrock was a weekend guest in the home of his brother, Doug & Laura Loosbrock.  They did some maintenance on the family farm before returning to his home in Champlin.

A 55 Alive Refresher course is being offered on Monday, October 1st from 5:30-9:30 p.m. at the Adrian High School.  To register, please contact Renee Bullerman at 483-2266.

Congratulation to Nick & Amanda (Lenz) Henning of Brandon, SD on the birth of their daughter, Brynn Kaye on Wednesday, Sept. 12th.  Brynn joins big brother, Wyatt, and big sister, Taryn.  Proud local grandparents are Bridget and the late Tim Henning and Larry & Deb Lenz, both of rural Lismore. 

Visitors in the Bob & Cate Koehne home during the weekend were Keith Henning and his son, Travis, of Crested Butte, Colorado.  They came especially to visit his mother, Carol Henning in Adrian and others around the area.

Jeff & Jan Weidert and Brandon spent Friday, Saturday, & Sunday at the MN State 4-H Horse Show held in St. Paul at the State Fairgrounds.  Brandon placed 4th in Barrels and 4th in Jump-Figure-8. There were over 700 4-Her’s that participated in the State Show this weekend.   Mark, Janine, and Laura Lorang also attended the State 4-H Horse show where Laura placed 7th in Halter Showmanship.  Laura will also be competing in English Pleasure and English Equitation on Monday.

Galen & Ruth Krogman were in New Hampton, IA last weekend for the Davis Motorcycle Rally.  They met with a group of Yamaha riders and friends for the weekend.  Ruth’s brother, Dave Hubbling from Alexandria, MN camped with them as well.
