Boys run strong at Fairmont Cross Country girls finish in 1st place at Fairmont

The Dragonís next race is the Milaca Mega Meet on the twenty-second of September.

The trip down Interstate 90 to Fairmont was on the Dragonís agenda for Monday, the 17 of September. The Cardinal Invite is a small meet, only four teams this year, but the competition is tough. The participating teams aside from Adrian included Fairmont, Mankato West, and Albert Lea.

In the varsity boyís race the Dragonís Taylor Recker and Collin Kemper both ran strong races. Taylor finished the race in 19:12 to take sixteenth-place overall. Collin took nineteenth-place overall, finishing the race in 19:27

The varsity girlís race featured fifty three runners. Adrianís Jordin Kopplow ran to a second-place finish with a time of 15:36. Megan Sauer crossed the line just six seconds later, taking third-place in 15:42. Nicole Slater was the third straight runner to cross the line, taking fourth-place with a time of 15:48. Morgan Sauer finished the race in 16:12, taking eighth-place overall as the fourth Dragon runner to finish on the day. Anna Serrao finished the race in fifteenth-place overall in 17:24. Jada Elias rounded out the field of Adrian runners, taking thirty-third overall, in 18:50. The Dragon ladies claimed first-place in the meet, edging out Albert Lea by one point, 32 Ė 33.
