The Adrian Lady Dragons finished their 2012 volleyball season this past Monday evening.
The girls made it an exciting night of tournament action against the Hills-Beaver Creek Patriots. As in the previous meeting between the teams, it took all 5 sets to determine the match winner. It was an unfortunate outcome for the home team, however. The Dragons won games two and four during the season ending contest. Every point and game were very hard fought and the girls walked away feeling that they left it all out on the court. Game scores were as follows: 18-25, 25-20, 26-28, 25-15, and 11-15.
Rachel Kontz had 16 digs and 39 set assists during the match as well as 4 ace blocks. Kontz also went 18/18 from the service line with 2 aces. Courtney Vaske had 22 digs and an impressive 18 kills on the night. She also had 7 ace blocks. Carly Wolf chipped in her own 12 digs and 11 kills at the net. She went 30/31 serving with an awesome 7 ace serves. Liz Their had 10 digs and was 15/16 serving. Corie Reckamp added 13 kills. Rachel Kontz was nominated by her teammates for the 'hustle award' for the night and Natasha Polzine was awarded the 'spirit award' again by her teammates.
