The Lismore Christmas Carolers will be getting in the holiday spirit on Thursday, December 13th.  Carolers will meet at the Lismore Bar at 6:30 p.m. and congregate afterwards for a potluck.

  Congratulations to Wally & Bobbie (Wieneke) Habben of Round Lake on the birth of their first child.  Lee Walon was born on December 3rd.  Grandparents include Roberta Wieneke, Adrian (and the late Carl WIeneke) and Nellie Kruger, Worthington.

  More baby congratulations to Cliff & Tammi Altman. They are new grandparents to Grady Lee, son of Travis & Heidi Broesder of Beaver Creek.  Grady was born on Dec. 5th and joins his older brother, Camdyn.  

The American Legion Auxiliary will still send Christmas greetings to any servicemen connected to our local area.  Please send their addresses to Bette LeBrun.  You can email them to or call her with their address at 472-8445.   

Congratulations to Brittney Castaneda (parents Rolando & Anna of Lismore) on being chosen as Artsonia's Artist of the Week for grades ten through twelve! Artsonia is the world's largest children’s art museum and it showcases art from all around the world!  Brittney's drawing, "Cold Solitude" was featured on the front page of last week's Nobles County Review.  She used white charcoal on black paper for the drawing of a wolf.  It was hanging in the halls of AHS and it looked spectacular. A very talented young lady!!  

Things are looking up for Laura Erdman, daughter of Mike and Pam as she begins therapy and continues to recuperate at her home following a car accident last month.  Her mailing address is:  Laura Erdman. 17218 Cory Ave, Lismore, MN  56155.

  The American Legion Auxiliary will be serving lunch and helping with activities at the Adrian Nursing Home on Thursday, December 13th.  Please note the date change.  Members will be leaving from Lismore at 1:45 p.m.  

Joshua Wieneke was the guest of honor for his 6th birthday on Saturday. His grandparents, Glenn & Jackie Wieneke joined sixteen of his classmates and friends & relatives at St. Catherine's school in Luverne.  The "Spiderman" theme was carried out with games and a piñata. Other relatives helping to celebrate were:  Joshua’s mother & sister, Kim & Adelynn Cox of Luverne, Angie & Jonny Beek & Michael Kirchner of Inwood, IA, Colleen Cole of Sioux Falls, and Connie, Nate & Tori Wieneke of Slayton.  Fr. Tom Jennings made an appearance and sang "Happy Birthday" to Joshua.

  Mark your calendar for December are not going to want to miss AHS's Christmas Gong Show! It is being advertised as "a group of stellar, bizarre, and definitely amateur acts to entertain and provide great humor as we head into the holidays”.  Doesn’t that sound like fun?  Surely it will bring a smile or a chuckle.  You will see talented and not-so-talented participants from Lismore, Wilmont, St. Kilian, and Adrian as they support the One Act play cast.  Dinner begins at 6:30 p.m. followed by the show.  See you there!

  The American Legion Auxiliary will celebrate the Christmas season by filling “good cheer” baskets at 6:00 p.m. on December 19th followed by their monthly meeting.  Serving lunch and providing BINGO prizes are: Marcella Gengler, Christy Preuss and Avis Stoffel. 

  Pvt. Dylan Johnson of Ft. Sills, OK is spending the month of December in the home of his mother, Patty Johnson.  Private Johnson is serving the month as a Recruiters Assistant with the US Marine Corp based out of the Sioux Falls office.

  Hey, good lookin'.....yes, that was Jan Weidert's picture in last week's Review as she hit her milestone 50th birthday.  The photo was compliments of her husband, Jeff, and family-Nick & Brittany, Justin, and Brandon.  The glasses have changed, but nothing else!  Happy 50th, Jan!

  Joyce Erdman, Lismore and her daughter, Gail Erdman of Primghar, IA flew to Commerce City, CO and spent from Thursday until Wednesday visiting in the home of Gail`s daughter, Danielle & Elliot Apland.  Great-Grandma Joyce and Grandma Gail enjoyed watching Peyton, Abbie and Callie from Friday until Sunday while their parents were away on business and a Christmas party in Casper, WY.   The other days were spent strolling through the Denver Zoo, the Purple Mountain (a children’s park) and just watching the kids play.  Joyce reports an awesome time with great weather!!  

Last Monday evening, Deb & Dave Lutmer visited Amanda Sykora of Browns Valley and Kim Sykora of Ortonville at the Sanford Hospital in Sioux Falls.   

The Lismore Booster Club will meet on Wednesday, Dec. 19th at the Fire Hall to make preparations for their Santa Day event.

Last Monday visitors with Ray & Bette LeBrun were Harold & Ardella Fisher of Fulda.   Sunday visitors were Bill & Patty LeBrun and Lauren, Miranda and Morgan of Reading and Alex LeBrun from right here in Lismore.  It was Grandpa's birthday, so he received calls and greetings from the rest of the family throughout the day.  

The State Bank of Lismore will host a Christmas Appreciation on Friday, December 14th from 10:00-2:00 with refreshments, goodies and door prizes.  

This year The Hoffer's celebrated their Christmas dinner at the Minnesota Veterans Home in Luverne.  Enjoying the day were: Gary & Connie Hoffer, Adrian; Glen & Mick Hoffer, Sioux Falls, SD; Joyce (Hoffer) Erdman, Lismore; and Earl Erdman, a resident at the Veterans Home. Everyone had a wonderful time.
