A Memorial Service for Douglas Allen Greve, 68, of Worthington, MN, was held Tuesday, January 15, 2013, at the Dingmann Funeral Home, Worthington, MN. A private family burial was held Monday, January 14, 2013, at the Worthington Cemetery. Douglas passed away peacefully on Friday, January 11.† Doug was diagnosed with a very aggressive brain tumor on July 2, 2012.†

Doug was born to Louis and Marion (Anderson) Greve on October 3, 1944 in Worthington MN. †Doug grew up on the family farm east of Worthington with his brother Richard and sister Mary Lou.† Doug graduated from Worthington Senior High School in 1962.

Doug obtained his pilotís license soon after high school creating many memories for those in his life privileged enough for a fly along. Doug married Kay Wieneke in Adrian, MN on January 20, 1968. Doug was a member of the Army National Guard and was discharged in August, 1970. Doug farmed with his brother until 1982 and then drove truck until he retired in 2007. He enjoyed keeping his hand in agriculture by helping out with spring and fall fieldwork.

His favorite pastimes included reading, watching NASCAR races, supporting the Vikings, researching on the computer, playing cards with friends, and just driving around. He especially enjoyed spending time with his nine grandchildren. After visiting, Doug was sure to give each grandchild his special high five as they were leaving.

You only had to ask and Doug would provide accurate, detailed directions to anywhere you wanted to go. He was a friend who could be counted on for anything. Echoes of Dougís heartfelt laughter will always linger with us.

Proud to have shared in his life are his wife, Kay; children, Jackie† & Kevin Eigenberg, Michelle & Scot Dobson, Aaron & Jennifer Greve and Melissa & Darren Webb; grandchildren, Austin, Eric, and Matt Eigenberg, Emily, Tyler and Carter Greve, Jonathan, Sophia and Samantha Webb; brother Richard & Marilyn Greve, brother-in-law David Hansen, uncle Lee & Fern Anderson; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: †Mary Jean Wehr, JoAnn & Bruce Amundson, Dale & Mary Wieneke, Richard Wieneke, Gene Wrege, Sandra Wieneke, Joe & Jolene Wieneke; 27 nieces and nephews, many cousins and friends.

Doug is preceded in death by his parents Louis & Marion, sister Mary Lou, in-laws Bernard, Lorraine, Bruce, Doug, Rosanne & John, niece Sarah and nephew Jeff.
