Sweer and Florence Arends attended the funeral of their sister-in-law, Arlene Arends, on Saturday afternoon at the First Baptist Church in George. Mrs. Arends died on Tuesday January 15, 2013 at the age of 82.

  The Zion Presbyterian Church held installation for the new church officers on Sunday January 20, 2013.  Rhonda Groen and Lisa Heikes will be Elders and George Schmidt will serve as a Deacon.

  Friday visitors with Ruth and Skip Birkett were Mary Jean Adams and son Leighton from Atkinson, Nebraska.  They also visited with Ethel Siemer.

  The 2013 Knights of Columbus Basketball Free Throw contest was held on Sunday January 13, 2013 at the Ellsworth School.

Father Bernard Kerrigan's funeral Mass was Monday January 14th in Wabasha.  Father Kerrigan, 91, was the 21st pastor of St Mary's Parish from 1963 to 1965.

  There is a MONKEY running around giving FALSE information.....He told me to put all my money on the New England Patriots......Thank goodness I am not a betting person ! ! ! !
