Sweer and Florence Arends attended the funeral of their sister-in-law, Arlene Arends, on Saturday afternoon at the First Baptist Church in George. Mrs. Arends died on Tuesday January 15, 2013 at the age of 82.
The Zion Presbyterian Church held installation for the new church officers on Sunday January 20, 2013. Rhonda Groen and Lisa Heikes will be Elders and George Schmidt will serve as a Deacon. Friday visitors with Ruth and Skip Birkett were Mary Jean Adams and son Leighton from Atkinson, Nebraska. They also visited with Ethel Siemer. The 2013 Knights of Columbus Basketball Free Throw contest was held on Sunday January 13, 2013 at the Ellsworth School. The winners were: GIRLS BOYS 10 yr---1st---Morgan Dreesen 1st---Christian Hoiland 2nd--Sarah Essman 2nd--Dalton Popkes 11 yr---1st---Kallie Chapa 1st---Cody Kramer 2nd--Ashlyn Meester 12 yr---1st---Sierra Smith 1st---Brandon Kramer 2nd--Lizzie Chapa 2nd--Kade Boltjes 13 yr---1st---Devin Dreesen NONE 2nd--McKenna Hinrichs 1st---Jared Leuthold Father Bernard Kerrigan's funeral Mass was Monday January 14th in Wabasha. Father Kerrigan, 91, was the 21st pastor of St Mary's Parish from 1963 to 1965. There is a MONKEY running around giving FALSE information.....He told me to put all my money on the New England Patriots......Thank goodness I am not a betting person ! ! ! ! |
