Lindsay Loosbrock & Ryan Henning were showered with many gifts on Saturday morning. Family and friends filled the Lismore Legion Hall to honor the couple as their May 4th wedding date nears. All enjoyed beautiful decorations and an assortment of breakfast items.  Best wishes, Lindsay & Ryan!

  Lacy Weidert of Lake Crystal and Nina Weidert of USD- Vermillion were weekend guests in the home of their parents, Jim & Kris. They came to celebrate the wedding of their sister, Melissa Weidert to Michael Einck on Saturday afternoon.

  Scott & Janelle Vis and Jason & Jenna of Brandon, SD were Sunday guest in the home of her parents, Tom & Mary Krogman.  They celebrated Jenna’s 11th birthday with her other grandparents, Vern & Rose Vis of Lismore. 

  Welcome back home to Florian & Mary Ann Loosbrock from wintering in Apache Junction, AZ.  

The newly elected president of the South Dakota Board of Regents is former Lismore native, Dean Krogman (son of the late Buck & Rita Krogman).  Dean directs government relations activities for the South Dakota State Medical Association.   He is also a broker/owner of Gustafson, Krogman & Associates Realty in Brookings, where he makes his home. Dean has been active in the South Dakota Legislature and has also served the Brookings School District as counselor, administrator, coach, and school board member.  Congratula-tions, Dean!

  Last Wednesday afternoon Ray & Bette LeBrun visited with Floyd Johnson at the MN Veteran’s Home in Luverne to help him celebrate his birthday. On Thursday Ray & Bette spent the day at the Johnson home in Magnolia with Joan and the others sisters, Rose & Alan Pedersen of Walnut Grove and Mary & Duane Eich of Farmington. They all enjoyed supper at the Lismore bar in the evening.  

The Lismore Cooperative Telephone Company will hold its annual stockholders meeting this Wednesday, April 10th at the American Legion Hall. Three directors will be elected and the financial report for 2012 will be reviewed.  Lunch and door prizes will follow the business meeting.

  Don’t forget that the American Legion Auxiliary is hosting a “kitchen shower” throughout April & May to benefit the Fisher House.  The Fisher House is a home-away-from-home for occupancy by veteran patients who are undergoing long term outpatient therapy and for family members or caretakers of veterans that are hospitalized.  The Fisher House is located within walking distance of the Minneapolis VA Medical Center.  Items needed include disposable dish cloths, plastic and foil wrap, jellies & jams, laundry soap, personal care products, paper products, new movies & DVDs, disposable cups and many other items. Anyone wishing to make a donation may contact an Auxiliary member for pick up. 

  This is the week to dig out all the clutter in your garage, basement or attic! The Spring Clean Up for the City of Lismore has been set for next Monday, April 15th. Many items will be picked up at no charge but there is a charge for various electronics and computers.  A complete list can be found at the City Hall or at the city’s website www.lismore.govoffice2.com.  Residents are encouraged to take advantage of spring clean up to remove unwanted and unused items from their property.

  The St. Anthony Parish will again be awarding the Earl Loebig Scholarship to a high school senior planning to attend college next year and current college freshmen, sophomores or juniors.  Application forms are available at the parish office or entrance to the church.
