EHS Track season off to a good start

The Ellsworth Panther Track Team opened their season at the Luverne Invitational April 4, 2013.
The Ellsworth Panther Track Team opened their season at the Luverne Invitational April 4, 2013. The Panthers finished in seventh place with 14 points.

The boys’ 400 relay team, Tyler Kurrasch, Jon Beekman, Nic Turning Bear and Shane Conklin finished in seventh place in a time of 53.71.

Next action for the week saw the Ellsworth track team competing in the Murray County Central Early Bird Invitational at Slayton on April 5, 2013. The boys’ 400-meter relay team, Tyler Kurrasch, D’Shaun Herman, Nice Turning Bear and Shane Conklin finished in fourth place with a time of 53.05.

The girls’ 800 meter relay team, Megan Popkes, Maggie Kruse, Kassidy Peters and Brenna Kramer finished fourth in 2:17.81.

Other top finishers for the Panthers were: boys fifth place 800 relay: Jared Leuthold, Jon Beekman, Bobby Walkowaik and Mailik Herman in 1:59.15. Sixth place Tyler Kurrasch, shot, 32-5. Seventh place: Nic Turning Bear 1600, 5:15.11; Jon Frazer, shot, 30-11. Eighth place: Tyler Kurrasch, discus 87-2. Girls fifth place: Kassidy Peters 400, 1:15.33, 400 relay team, Brenna Kramer, Hannah Kramer, Hanna Hieronimus and Maggie Kruse, 1:05.43. Sixth place: Kadie Werner, 100 hurdles, 22.9.
