Dragons soar at Arrow Relays

The Adrian Dragons Boys and Girls Track and Field teams put in a solid performance last Tuesday at the Arrow Relays in Pipestone.
The Adrian Dragons Boys and Girls Track and Field teams put in a solid performance last Tuesday at the Arrow Relays in Pipestone. The girls racked up 115 points to take third place as a team. They boys scored 77 points to place fifth. Leading the Dragon girls in individual events were Jordin Kopplow and Nicole Slater. Kopplow finished first in the 3200 meter run with a time of 12:00.10. Slater clocked a time of 5:35.69 in the 1600 meter run to take top honors. Placing third in the 1600m run was Morgan Sauer (6:04.86) and placing third in the 3200m run was Megan Sauer (12:33.71). Shelly Loosbrock led the Dragons in the 300m hurdles placing third with a time of 57.99. Loosbrock also placed fourth in the 100m hurdles (20.55), Christina Loonan placed fourth in the 100m dash (14.43), and Shania Combs placed fourth in the high jump (42). Fifth place finishers included Combs (1:00.55) in 300m hurdles, Rylie Hokeness (1:13.90) in 400m dash, and Mikayla Jeffers (3:04.20) in 800m run. Sixth place finishers included Combs (21.70) in 100m hurdles, Brittney Loonan (31.90) in 200m dash, B. Loonan (1:15.26) in 400m dash, and Ashley Schnoor (618) in discus. Rylie Hokeness (32.05) placed eighth in the 200m dash.

The girls relay teams also had a very successful night. The 3200m relay team consisting of Sauer, Kopplow, Sauer, and Slater placed first with a time of 10:12.59. Slater, Katie Reisdorfer, Jackie Hokeness, and Kopplow put together a first place finish in the 1600m relay. Second place finishes were also accomplished in the 400m relay (57.02) and 800m relay (2:01.71) with teams consisting of J. Hokeness, C. Loonan, Loosbrock, Reisdorfer and C. Loonan, B. Loonan, J. Hokeness, and Reisdorfer respectively.

Dillon John took top honors for Dragon boys in the individual events. John placed first in the shot put (3811.75). John also placed second in the discus (1083). Theron Miller (24.86) placed second in the 200m dash. Jaden Balster (12.54) placed third in the 100m dash and Taylor Recker (510) placed third in the high jump. Fifth place finishers included Cain Rautenkranz (22.84) in 110m hurdles, Tyler Recker (2:31.75) in 800m run, and (5:24.25) in 1600m run. Sixth place finishers included Dustin John (13.07) in 100m dash, Dillon John (26.88) in 200m dash, and Austin Kamm (852) in discus. Kamm (324.25) placed seventh in shot put. Miller (52) placed eighth in high jump.The 400m-relay team (49.83) consisting of Balster, Lucas Dohlmann, Tanner Kamm, and Dillon John placed fourth. The 800m-relay team (1:44.20) included Balster, Dustin John, Kasey Madtson, and Miller and placed third.
