Bring your Christmas list and come and do some early shopping on Saturday October 12th at the Ellsworth High School Gym. The Parkview Manor Volunteers are having their annual Bake Sale and Fund Raiser for the residents needs.  Along with the bake sale there will be a Craft and Vendor Sale with over 25 tables.  The EHS band will be serving coffee and rolls in the morning and lunch starting at 11:00.  

Sweer, Florence and Sharon Arends were callers last Wednesday with Sylvester and Hike Harms in George IA.  They helped Sylvester celebrate his 92nd birthday.  

Charlie and Gerta Janssen. Luverne were Sunday morning visitors with Jim Mulder.  

Friday evening callers with Jan Stoll were Diane Schweitzer, Ellsworth, Devin Moe, Karson Jurrens and Kayne Jurrens, all from Rock Rapids IA.  

A large crowd attended St. Mary's Fall Supper on Sunday evening.  The food was excellent and after raining all day, the sun came out just in time for an enjoyable evening.

  Miles Birkett went to Walker, MN last weekend and was joined there by cousins Paul Hinz and Nancy Hinz. The fishing was not good but lots of good memories were made and shared.

  Sunday visitors with Sweer, Florence and Sharon Arends were Glen and Barb Arends, Lester IA;  Keith and Marvella Klaashen, Sibley IA and Erwin and Lori Arends, Little Rock, IA. and Daryl Kruger.  They all helped Glen celebrate his birthday.  

The American Legion and Auxiliary will hold its regular meeting on Wednesday October 9, 2013 at 7:30 p.m.

The Legion will meet at the City Hall and the Auxiliary will meet at the Oakwood Apartments.
