Dragon volleyball moves to 2nd Round of Subsections before ending the season in Luverne

Shelley Loosbrock and Bailey Grussing go up high for the block to put the ball back over the net against Tracy-Milroy-Balaton.
The loss to TMB ended the season for the Dragons.
On Monday, October 21st the Dragons headed to Ells-worth to take on the Panthers in the first round of subsections.

After losing to the Panthers during regular season play (3-1), the Dragons came out with one goal; To Win.

The 9th seeded Dragons upset the number 8 seeded Panthers with a clean sweep, 3-0. The Panthers put up a fight, but the Dragons won 25-19, 25-22, and 25-21.

Senior setter Sydnie Weiss led the Dragons with 17 set assists and 16 digs. Senior outside hitter Corie Reckamp contributed 5 kills and 24 digs. Senior middle hitter Nicole Knips also had 5 kills along with 2 ace serves. Elizabeth Thier had 4 kills and 6 digs while senior right side hitter Shelly Loosbrock had 2 aces, 2 kills, and 8 digs. Senior middle hitter Amy Bents also had 2 kills while senior Bailey Grussing had 4 kills and 2 blocks. Libero Christina Loonan had 9 digs for the Dragons.

The Dragons then traveled to Luverne for the second round of subsections to take on the number 1 seeded Tracy-Milroy-Balaton Panthers.

The Dragons put up a fight and played a great defensive game, but were unable to bring home the win. The dragons lost 3-0 with scores of 11-25, 8-25, and 15-25.

Corie Reckamp led the Dragons with 3 kills and 9 digs. Elizabeth Thier contributed 1 kill and 10 digs. Bailey Grussing and Nicole Knips both had 2 kills while Amy Bents, Christina Loonan, and Sydnie Weiss all contributed 1 kill. Sydnie Weiss had 9 set assists for the night.

The loss to TMB ended the season for the Dragons.
