Dragon Golf award winners announced

The Adrian Dragon girls and boys golf teams were honored at their 2017 awards banquet on Tuesday, June 6th with the season award winners being announced at this time.  Although both teams struggled with the factor of youth and inexperience, all golfers are to be commended for their hard work, efforts, and dedication thoughout the 2017 season.

A total of 23 golfers were involved in the golf program this season, including a group of 9 girls and boys from the 6th grade class.  Members of the 2017 Adrian golf teams were:  6th Grade – Taya Elias, Mia Hieronimus, Lauren Madison, Madeline Wagner, Brock Henning, Breyer Hieronimus, Ethan Langseth, Landyn Loosbrock, and Logan Nogosek;  7th Grade – Josi Altman and Josh Barr;  8th Grade – Gracia Elias, Jacob Lenz, and Landon Runia;  9th Grade – Annika Elias, Easton Braun, Alex Freimuth, and Blake Madison;  10th Grade – John Christians;  11th Grade – Alexia Kemper, Brady Henning, Mitchell Veld, and Cole Weidert.

With no seniors on the 2017 team and a large number of newcomers to the team, the prospects for the 2018 season are good.  By gaining a year of experience, our younger golfers can look forward to more success next season as long as they put in valuable time on the golf course over the summer.

The 2017 golf letterwinners are:  Alexia Kemper, Annika Elias, Gracia Elias, Josi Altman, Brady Henning, Mitchell Veld, Cole Weidert, John Christians, Easton Braun, and Landon Runia.

Award winners for the Lady Dragons were:  Alexia Kemper – Low Score Season, Low Season Average, Low Score Red Rock Conference Tournment and Conference Champion;  Annika Elias – Low Score Section 3A-Round 1 and 2017 Most Improved.

Winning awards for the boys team were:  Mitchell Veld – Low Score Season, Low Season Average, and Low Score Section 3A-Round 1;  Landon Runia – Low Score Red Rock Conference Tournament and 2017 Most Improved.

Adrian junior Mitchell Veld will be playing in the Minnesota State High School Golf Tournament on June 13th and 14th at Pebble Creek Golf Club in Becker, MN.  GO DRAGONS AND GOOD LUCK MITCHELL!!
