The beautiful weather has allowed perfect conditions for the Adrian Dragon cross country team to work hard to start the season. Practice began on August 15 at 7:00 AM sharp. Morning practice will continue until the school year begins.

Eighteen runners have joined the fight this year, four runners short of last year’s team. There is only one new runner this year, Khailee Nelson. The only senior this year, Khailee left her manager role of the last two years to run with the others.

Returning juniors are Brady Henning and Courtney Penning. Brady had a breakout season last year and is expected to fight for a state spot. Courtney brings experience to the team and looks to lead the other ladies.

Lone sophomore, Halle Heitkamp, also brings experience to a strengthening team. She will be in the hunt for a top varsity spot.
