Dragons run season best at Luverne

On yet another cold, wet day, the Dragons traveled to Luverne for the Luverne Invitational. Schools from around the section participated in the meet because Luverne is the host team for the Section 3A Meet later this fall. The Junior High runners were the first to run the 3200 meter course. Seventh grader Hunter Penning placed in the top ten for the second meet in a row, as she placed 10th overall with a time of 14:58. Teammate Kaysie Lenz ran her first 3200 meter race, running 18:43 and placing 29th overall. Bruce Farinella managed to run a personal best time for a 3200 meter race, pacing the course in 13:49. Farinella placed 21st overall in the 57 runner field.

The varsity girls were the next to race the soggy course. The new competition pushed the Dragons to run multiple season best times. Junior Moriah Bullerman placed 8th in the 59 runner field. Bullerman ripped through the 5000 meter course with a time of 21:03, Sophomore Gracia Elias was the second runner for the Dragons and ran a season best time of 24:06.
