Elaine “Joyce” (Bullerman) Scheidt ~ Adrian, MN 

 

 

Mass of Christian Burial for  Elaine “Joyce” Scheidt was held  on May 3, 2019  at St. Adrian Catholic Church, in Adrian, MN, officiated by Monsignor Richard Colletti. Burial will be in the St. Adrian Cemetery.  Elaine, age 79, of Adrian, died Tuesday, April 30, 2019 at the Sanford Luverne Medical Center. She was born May 3, 1939 in Salem, SD, to Peter and Elsie (Wegener) Sandner. Elaine attended school in Salem and graduated in 1957 from St. Mary’s High School. Following graduation she worked at the telephone office in Rock Rapids, IA.

Elaine married Leon Bullerman on August 24, 1958. They lived on an acreage near Adrian. Leon died on June 6, 1962.

Elaine married Joe Scheidt on November 23, 1963, at St. Adrian Catholic Church. The couple lived and raised their family in Adrian. Elaine worked at the Home Cafe until she and Joe became owners of the Adrian Motel from 1972 to 1976. From 1982 to 2010 they owned the Thrifty Nickel Bar in Adrian.

She was a member of St. Adrian Catholic Church and the WCCW. Elaine enjoyed word search puzzles, reading, having “pop breaks”, and coffee with her friend Norma. Elaine always had peanut M&M’s and baked cookies for family and friends. Most of all, she loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Elaine is survived by her husband, Joe Scheidt, Adrian; five children, Monty (Mary) Bullerman, Adrian; Rick (Karen) Bullerman, Adrian; Lisa (Randy) Strand, Adrian; Kellie (Ron) Thier, Adrian; and Traci (Jerry) Sjoberg, Sioux Falls, SD; sixteen grandchildren, Jen Vogt, Jackie (Trey) Williams, Jordan Vogt, Joey (Davi) Bullerman, Jacy (Brandon) Stanek, Jordan (friend, Kendra) Bullerman, Jaydan Bullerman, Brittni Strand, Reid (Becky) Strand, Dru (Tatyanna) Strand, Emily (Travis) Brown, Erica (Halden) Van Wyhe, Elissa (friend, Blake) Thier, Elizabeth (friend, Andrew) Thier, Janaye (friend, Steve) Sjoberg and Ryan (friend, Melia) Sjoberg; eighteen great-grandchildren; five sisters, LaVon Blinsmon, Sioux Falls, SD; Janet (Bud) Hanisch, Sioux Falls, SD; Joyce Garry, Parker, SD; Rose (Alan) Bies, Mitchell, SD; and Joan Smith, Milliken, CO; a brother, Larry (Pat) Sandner, Stuart, IA; and a sister-in-law, Marlys Sandner, Sioux Falls, SD.

She is preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Leon; brother, Tony Sandner; and four brothers-in-law, Roger Blinsmon, John Garry, Keith Smith, and Eugene “Pizza” Scheidt.
