Jottings by Jerry 12-25-19

Saturday, the 21st of December, is the Winter Solstice which starts the swing back to longer days and shorter nights. It’s only a few minutes more each day but it will start to make a difference. That bit of knowledge is all we have to get us through January and February. Focus on the Robins returning to share the last snowstorm while the tulips are trying to bloom. Good times.

Today our thoughts are on the Christmas Holidays. The day is one of the greatest for the gathering of families to celebrate. It is a wonderful time as the spirit of the season shines on everyone. It’s easy to get lost in the hubbub but take a moment to reflect on the spiritual meaning regardless of your religion or lack of it. There are more acts of kindness and sharing than any other time of the year. It is a season for sharing, assisting and expressing our lives. It is one of the most difficult seasons for the unfortunate and anything you can to make it better is always appreciated.

Our Christmas gathering will be this Saturday before everyone heads for destinations scattered to the hinterlands. It’s busy and enjoyable.
