Local Groups Demonstrate Commitment to Ag Producers with Conference

Luverne, MN — Supporting the local communities, their residents and the economic future of the area and its agricultural producers is the focus of several local businesses and organizations. To demonstrate their commitment to the local farming industry, Exchange State Bank, Professional Ag Marketing and the Rock County Corn and Soybean Growers Association, all of Luverne, MN, will host the third annual Ag Seminar, Wednesday, February 1 from 10:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Grand Prairie Events.

The event, titled “Learn. Connect. Share.”, will focus on the challenges facing today’s farming families and agricultural producers. Local experts will share the stage with nationally recognized ag expert and award-winning radio host Trent Loos.

“Farming has been the backbone of the area for generations,” says Tim Plimpton, president of Exchange State Bank. “Almost every retail store, professional and service provider can trace a good portion of their income to the agricultural industry, and that’s why we believe it’s so important to support our farming friends and neighbors.”

This event is unique to the area, and past events were well-attended and well-received. To reach a broader audience in 2017, Exchange State Bank and Professional Ag Marketing added another title sponsor, Rock County Corn and Soybean Growers Association.

Joining the title sponsors this year are the Rock County Pork Producers and Rock County Farm Bureau.

“We have hosted this seminar for two years,” says Pat Von Tersch, Professional Ag Marketing, “and our attendance has grown each year. It’s an opportunity to show local farmers and producers our commitment to them and how we can help and support their operations.”

Speakers will share insights on topics ranging from risk management strategies and fundamental factors influencing corn, soybean and livestock trade to leadership and involvement in the industry.

“It’s important that growers and producers know what’s developing in the industry,” says Lucas Peters of Rock County Corn and Soybean Growers Association. “I’ll be discussing why being involved with local grower organizations is vital not only because it keeps farmers aware of trends and developments, but promotes Minnesota’s agricultural industry.”

The organizers are especially proud of securing Trent Loos as the keynote speaker. Loos, who’s life-long passion for agriculture lead to a career promoting agriculture. His radio broadcast is heard in nearly 100 markets by around 3 million listeners worldwide. Mr. Loos was recently selected to serve on the President’s sixty-member Agricultural Advisory Committee.
