Self-Defense Class for women

On Saturday, February 8,  an important event is being held for area women at the Adrian Legion Building.  Tami Rogers and Emmie Lolkus are hosting a Self Awareness Group for Women event.  The event is for women and girls of all ages and begins at 1 p.m.  There is no cost to attend.

The goal of the event is to help women and girls learn some ways to protect and de

fend themselves through self-defense moves and tools.  When asked what inspired her to organize this event Tami Rogers replied, “when I was a teenager I had a tragic incident that might not have happened if these tools were available.  My daughter and her friends are teenagers now and unfortunately the world is getting scarier.  We haven’t had any self-defense classes for women

in our area.   You hear and see too much about things happening basically in our back yard.  If this class can help even just one person in a scary situation, then this worked.”

Officer Ashley from the Adrian police will present information on how to keep yourself safe and aware.  Chit Keo, a former Marine from Adrian, will demonstrate some self defense moves.  Lastly

Emmie Lokus of Damsel in Defense will give a demonstration on equipment available to protect yourself.  Emmie will  also have some of this equipment available to purchase or order.

Come to the Adrian Legion Building on Saturday, February 8th at 1 p.m. and bring your girl friends.  You are your first line of defense!  Come and learn some tools to keep you safe.
