Addie Wiese ~ Adrian, MN

Funeral services for Addie Wiese, age 99, of Adrian, MN were held on Friday, July 20, 2018 at the First Baptist Church in Adrian, MN.  Interment was in the Adrian Cemetery in Adrian, MN.  Addie died on Monday, July 16, 2018, at the Adrian Country Living Cottages.  Addie Pearl (Walker) Wiese was born November 16, 1918, to Earl and Alma (Quam) Walker in Rock County near Magnolia, MN.  She attended country school and later graduated from Luverne High School.

On June 2, 1940, Addie married Ferdinand Wiese and they made their home in Pipestone, MN.  In her younger years, while raising her family, Addie worked as an egg candler at the former Safeway.  She lived most of her life in Adrian or the surrounding area, but did move to Arkansas for several years.  While she enjoyed living in the south, there were two things she did not like; the large bugs and the thought of coming across a snake if she walked through the grass.  Addie became a resident of the Adrian Country Living Cottages on July 31, 2010,

Addie was an avid reader and also liked to crochet.  She was a past member of the First Baptist Church in Adrian and a current member of Calvary Baptist in Worthington, MN.  She faithfully attended church until she could no longer be there in person.  She would then listen and watch Sunday services on television and particularly liked Dr. Charles Stanley.

Addie is survived by her four sons, Earl Wiese of Worthington, MN; Gerald (Sue) Wiese of Monroe, LA; Robert (Jan) Wiese of Adrian, MN; and William (Sue) Wiese of Conway, AR; daughter-in-law, Guadalupe Wiese of Worthington, MN; seven grandchildren, Sandra (Ramsey) Ogg, Susan (Art) Sheffield, Allen (Stephanie) Wiese, Cathy Jo (Mark) Wiese, Jodi (Lance) Mulder, Jesus Wiese and Jonathon (Jessica) Wiese; nine great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; one sister, Grace Wolf of Blair, NE; special niece, Marilyn (Danny) Honermann; and many other nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ferdinand; her son, Roger Wiese;  her parents, and several brothers and sisters.  Addie will be missed by her family, but we are assured we will see her again in Heaven.

The Adrian Funeral Home is handling the arrangements for the family.
