Adrian News 01-23-19

The AHS Honor Band played in Marshall on Saturday, January 19th.  The group from Adrian joined with other honor bands to put on a concert for those who came to listen.  The students did an amazing job.

Our deepest sympathies to the family of David and Kathleen Voss.  They lost two members in a short period of time.  David was the son of Edward and Coletta Voss.  God’s peace to the family.  Blessed be the memories of David and Kathleen Voss.

Helen Lonneman celebrated her 85th birthday at her home at the Adrian Country Cottages with her children, grandchildren and friends.  Everyone enjoyed her beautiful cake and ice cream. Happy birthday Helen!

Congrats go out to Wes Henriksen for his award for giving twenty-five years on the utility commission.  It’s people like you who keep our community going!  Also hats off to Rose for putting up with all the time he served.  No one serves without making sacrifices.

With the NFL playoffs complete, it’s off to the Superbowl!  Do you have your snacks lined up?

AHS had a busy week of sports, even with a snow day.  The BBB team won one and lost one, GBB lost one, the wrestlers went 1 and 3 in the TMB Tournament,  the gymnastics team did well at Jackson and the MS teams had a mixed bag. The week ahead is busy as the teams begin to wind down to tournament times that are just around the cornerl.

Our nice, mild winter took a turn this past weekend.  It seems we just get shoveled and it snows again!  It’s Minnesota!

All our thoughts are with the citizens of Ellsworth as they adjust to the loss of a historic building.  Some things cannot be replaced!  Our beautiful old buildings are not appreciated until we lose one.

Thought for the week:  Don’t live another week where you never follow your dreams and heart.  Remember God’s rewards are overwhelming.

Have a good week!
