Congratulations to the newly crowned snow week royalty- King Tucker Wieneke and Queen Sabdi Bravo.  Snow week will be finished up this week due to so many days off because of weather.

Our deepest sympathy to Nick Kellen and his son Dominic and the rest of the family of Taylor Stratton.  May God be with you during this really tough time.  Blessed be the memory of Taylor Stratton.

A small break from the cold melted a lot of the snow on the streets and in the yards. It was a wonderful taste of spring.

The groundhog did not see his shadow on Saturday, so we are supposed to have an early spring.  Guess we’ll just have to wait and see!

Our deepest condolences to the family of JoAnne Heidebrink,  Jo passed away on Sunday, February 3, 2019, at the Murray County Medical Center in Slayton at the age of 76. She was the daughter of Frank and Alberta (Lenz) Banck.  Blessed be the memory of Jo Heidebrink.

On Thursday there is BINGO at the Adrian Senior Dining Center.  Plan to go and break up another cold week!  Be sure to call ahead.  If you are a Senior and want to have company for about an hour, consider going to the dining center.  The meals are good and the numbers are small.  This is a program we do not want to lose.  The cost is minimal, so check it out!

The Eumenical Mission Week committee met for the second time.  They are starting to get the foundation laid.  They are going to start looking for projects for people who need help completing them.  If you have a project in mind, please contact Michele Wieneke at 507-227-6456 and get a jump start on the list.  Watch for more information in next weeks paper.

On tap for AHS in the next week is plenty of basketball action.  Check the schedule on the sports page for more details. Wrestling is amping up for tournament time, which is just around the corner. Hockey is away on Friday night; Gymnastics is away on Saturday as is the Speech team.  On Monday, Jan. 11 the Math League is at home against Jackson, Fulda and Luverne; the Knowledge Bowl is away; and Tuesday, Feb. 12, the Speech Team is in Tracy.  Lots of happenings!

Thought for the week: Whether today is a day of soaring or of struggle for you, may you find hope in the one who has given you life. May you know love in the Lord who calls you beloved.

Have a great week!
