Board Chair Wolf called an emergency meeting of the Adrian Board of Education to order at 8:00 P.M. on March 12, 2020. Members present: Bullerman, Kruger, Kunkel, Madison, Wieneke and Wolf. Also present were Superintendent Graff, Principal Koehne, Dean of Students Schettler, J Kruger, A Thier.
Board Member Lenz was absent.
The purpose of the meeting was to discuss how the District wanted to handle the pandemic outbreak of the Coronavirus (COVID-19). It was determined that the District will follow the recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and Minnesota Department of Health (MDH).
The board reviewed the Emergency Planning and Procedures for Pandemic Flu – Highly Contagious Illness. Discussed upcoming events with the following actions:
Motion by Kunkel, seconded by Kruger to cancel the Public Listening session on Monday, March 16, motion carried.
Motion by Wieneke, seconded by Madison to cancel Parent-Teacher Conferences for March 19, motion carried.
Motion by Wieneke, seconded by Bullerman to postpone the Student Council March Madness event scheduled for March 19, motion carried.
Board agreed to advise patrons to use discretion on attending the winter activities banquets.
Discussed the upcoming Spanish Trip to Spain. At the present time all trips are postponed 30 days out. The Spanish club has not committed to the trip yet.
Motion by Bullerman, seconded by Kunkel to adjourn the Special March 12, 2020 meeting of the Adrian Board of Education at 8:53 P.M., motion carried.
