AHS to celebrate Snow Week Feb. 5-9, 2018

The Adrian High School Student Council is busy making plans for the annual AHS Snow Week celebration. This year Snow Week will be held February 5-9.

Snow Week is not only an opportunity for students and staff to embrace and celebrate–or endure–another long winter.  It’s also a chance to build unity among students, promote a positive school climate, and recognize the success and accomplishments that AHS students continue to enjoy in the classroom and in school activities.

One unique aspect of Snow Week at AHS is the selection of the royalty. Instead of having students vote, as is done during Homecoming, AHS teachers and staff vote for the Snow Week King and Queen. The intention is for the staff to recognize and honor senior students who have shown leadership and been good role models throughout their years at AHS.

Four senior boys and four senior girls have been selected to the Snow Week Royal Court. The AHS 2018 Snow King and Queen will be crowned during a special school assembly during advising on Monday, February 5. the Snow Week Royal Court are the following: Queen candidates Paige Bullerman, Alexia Kemper, Taylor Loosbrock and Madison Neuenburg; King candidates Brady Henning, Skylar Polzine, Mitchell Veld, and Jordan Wolford.  Congratulations to the Snow Week Royal Court 2018.

Dress up days for Snow Week 2018 will be as follows: Monday is Pajama Day, Tuesday is Toga Day, Wednesday is Winter Wear Day, Thursday is Mix and Match Day, and Friday is America Day. All students in grades 6-12  and staff are encouraged to participate in the dress up days

The events on Friday, February 9, will be the culmination of the week-long celebration. The annual AHS Dodgeball Tournament will be held in the afternoon and the semi-formal high school dance will be held in Adrian’s Legion Building after the varsity basketball game that night.
