Dragons fall short in season opener

On Tuesday, December 11th, 2018 the Adrian Dragons Boys’ Basketball team hosted Hills-Beaver creek in their season opener.  The Dragons fell 66-57 to the Patriots.

The Dragons were led by Lance Luettel with 19 points and 9 rebounds.  Christian Weidert had 18 points and 7 rebounds.  Noah Reyne had 7 points. Dakota John led the Dragons with 6 assists. The Dragons were 17 of 47 for 36% from two-point range and 6 of 18 from behind the three-point line. The Dragons are 0-1 and host the Red Rock Central Falcons on Thursday, December 13th.

On Thursday, December 13th, 2018 the Dragons hosted the Red Rock Central Falcons in a Red Rock Conference match-up. The Dragons got off to a slow start but battled back in the second half, but came up short 55-53.

The Dragons were led by Christian Weidert’s 25 points and Noah Reyne added 13 points in the Dragon effort.  Ian Stamer had 7 points, Lance Luettel had 6 points and 9 rebounds.  The Dragons were 17 of 39 from two-point range and 6 of 16 from behind the three-point line.  The Dragons lost the rebounding battle 29-23.  The Dragons are 0-1 in conference play and 0-2 overall. The Dragons will have a busy week heading into the Christmas break as they headed to Windom on Monday and Ellsworth Tuesday before going to Lamberton for the Holiday Tournament on Thursday and Saturday.
