GBB Drop Consolation Game to Wabasso

The struggles continued for the Adrian girls’ basketball team as they dropped their seventh consecutive game. Facing the Wabasso Rabbits in the consolation game of the TMB Holiday Tournament the Dragons committed 17 first half turnovers, many leading to easy Rabbit points, as the winners ran away with a 59-35 win. The loss moves the Dragons record to 3-7 as they finish 2016.

Wabasso grabbed the first lead of the night on an Adrian turnover before one of two freethrows from Paige Bullerman made it a 2-1 score at the 17:04 mark. A Lexi Slater fieldgoal gave the Dragons their first and only lead of the night at 3-2.

The Rabbits wasted no time in taking the lead back as they pressed themselves to a 23-8 advantage with a 19-5 scoring rally. Although the Dragons were able to match their opponents over the final eight minutes of the opening period with 10 points, Wabasso held a 33-17 lead heading into the halftime break.
