Two Adrian High School Speech students, Alexia Kemper and Sabdi Bravo, qualified for the Minnesota State High School Speech Tournament Saturday, April 22 at Apple Valley High School. The top three qualifiers in each of the 13 speech categories earned the honors at the Section 3A meet at Southwest Minnesota State University in Marshall, Saturday, April 8.
Alexia, a junior, finished second in Extemporaneous Reading to earn her the state qualifier spot. Sabdi, who is a sophomore, was third in Informative Speaking to make her eligible for the meet.
Finishing just one heartbreaking place away from advancing was senior Zack Loosbrock who was fourth in Informative Speaking and freshman Maritza Beltran who was fourth in Poetry.
Competing at sections but not making finals were Paige Bullerman in Original Oratory and Sara Knips in Prose.
