Luke Rahe reached a birthday milestone by turning 40 and his wife, Jen, had a surprise birthday party for him on Saturday, January 25th. The venue was JJ’s Axes & Ales in Sioux Falls, SD and everyone had a blast with axe throwing! Guests were: Jared and Jennifer Brake of Wilmont, Dean and Jennifer Luettel of Adrian, and Randy and Marcia Mulder of Luverne.  B’s Bakehouse (Brittany Loosbrock of Luverne) made an amazing birthday cake that looked like a tree stump complete with an axe made of chocolate!   Happy Birthday, Luke!

Dave and Deb Lutmer visited with Barb (Mrs. Randy) Lutmer before her return flight to Louisville, KY on Sunday afternoon.  Barb spent a long weekend in Avon, SD visiting with her brother, Jack Brodeen, who has failing health.

The community offers sympathy to the Bob Lynn family. Bob passed away Tuesday, January 28th at the Sunset Hospice Cottage in Worthington at the age of 88.  Bob and his wife, Jeannette, farmed near Lismore after his discharge from the US Army.  He was active in his church and community and served on many boards.  Bob and Jeannette traveled throughout the United States as well as Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Taihti, and Canada.  Bob’s family will carry on his legacy of the importance of humility, kindness, and compassion towards others.  He is survived by his wife, Jeannette, and children Deb, Jeff, Diane, Barb, and Brad and their families.  Blessed be his memory.

FYI:  Members of the St. Adrian Parish Cluster are being warned of recent scams where the scammers troll the church bulletins for information and phone numbers, then they send fake text messages or emails asking for gift cards or money.  Be aware that this has happened in other parishes of the diocese and DO NOT RESPOND.

Ct. St. Bernard #886, Catholic Daughters of the Americas, is sponsoring a baby shower! They have a display set up in the back of St. Kilian’s church for donations that will be given to the Helping Hands Pregnancy Center in Worthington. When shopping for your own children or grandchildren, purchase a little something extra for this worthwhile cause!  Donations will be collected until February 8th.  Everyone is invited to participate with unwrapped gifts (clothes, diapers, baby items) or a cash donation.

Mark Loosbrock celebrated his 70th birthday with supper at the Lismore Bar with his wife Jeannie, children Andy & Kristy Loosbrock, Gavin, Ross, and Veronica of Luverne; Jessica and Mike Fedt of Sioux Falls, SD; and Matt and Chris Loosbrock, Landyn and Claire of Lismore.  The family had a special gift for him; a video of birthday greetings from over 100 friends and family.  Happy Birthday, Mark!
