Molly Einck is recuperating in Ann Arbor, MI following her surgery to repair a heart valve on April 2. Things seem to be going well and Molly was able to enjoy some fresh air over the weekend! We hope it won’t be long until Mike & Melissa will be able to bring her home. Please continue to pray for her complete recovery!  You may follow her progress at Caringbridge.org/MollyEinck.

The Easter Bunny is coming to Lismore on Saturday, April 20th at the Lismore Park and Lismore Fire Hall. Weather permitting there will be an Easter Egg Hunt in the city park at 10:00 am.  At 10:30, the Easter Bunny will make his way to the Fire Hall where he will hand out some candy and you can have your picture taken with him. This is just one of the many events the Lismore Booster Club sponsors throughout the year.

Joyce Erdman was featured in last weekend’s Globe as one of “Lismore’s Ambassadors”.  Over the years, Joyce has been a dedicated citizen who delights in serving others.  She is active with the American Legion Auxiliary, Red Cross Bloodmobile, Catholic Daughters, St. Anthony Catholic Church, and Homebound ministry in Lismore.  She also goes to the Assisted Living in Adrian and to the Vets Home and Hospice in Luverne to volunteer on a regular basis. She still finds time to socialize with friends and play cards too! She’s a busy gal and she will continue all her activities as long as she is able.  Keep up the good work, Joyce!!

Many new members from the area were received into the Catholic Daughters of the Americas at a Mass at St. Anthony Church on Sunday, April 7th. Court Chaplain Fr. Rick Colletti officiated.  Ct. St. Bernard #886 hosted a sit down dinner reception, which was attended by Ct. Madonna #839 of Wilmont and Ct. Santa Maria #247 of Adrian. The Lismore Knights of Columbus served the attendees a grilled pork loin dinner.  Minnesota State Regent Evonne Seivert was in attendance and offered words of encouragement to new members and congratulated the fifty-year members from all three courts. It was a wonderful evening of faith, fun, and fellowship!  The new member of Ct. St. Bernard of Lismore is Denise Lynn.  The 50+ year members who were honored were Joyce Erdman, Pearl Wieneke, and Mary Ann Loosbrock.

Lismore’s Public Works Supervisor, Justin Ahlers, was certainly surprised when he walked into the Lismore Bar & Grill on Friday evening.  A surprise 40th birthday celebration was “on the menu”, thanks to his parents, Tom & Tammy Ahlers of Fulda. Family, friends, and co-workers helped to make it a great surprise! Happy birthday, Justin!

Bill and Gloria Carlberg returned last week from Nashville, TN after attending the All-Star birthday celebration for Country Western Star Loretta Lynn!  Many of Loretta’s big hits were sung by artists Darius Rucker, Little Big Town, Miranda Lambert, Brandy Clark, and Kacey Musgraves, just to name a few.  The show included 3 of her duets with Conway Twitty, performed by Garth Brooks & Tricia Yearwood, Alan Jackson & LeeAnn Womack, and George Strait & Martina McBride. For the grand finale, all the stars and Loretta took the stage and started singing “Coal Miners Daughter” when Loretta reached for the mic and finished the song. Even though Loretta Lynn suffered a stroke two years ago and a broken hip last year (plus she turns 87 on April 14), she can still sing! Artist Keith Urban even jumped out of the cake! The celebration was a full 3-hour show. Loretta’s sister, Crystal Gayle also performed. 12,000 of her biggest fans filled the Bridgestone Arena. Bill and Gloria were very happy to be a part of this awesome celebration.
