Lismore News 10-16-19

Everyone is invited to pray the rosary with Ct. St. Bernard #886 on Wednesdays in October at 6:30 p.m. at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church.

The Lismore CCW, along with the Diocese of Winona and Catholic Charities, is supporting the Baby Bottle Campaign.   Baby bottles are available in the back of all three churches within the parish cluster. Please fill a bottle with your spare change and return it at the end of this month. Donations from this campaign assist women who choose parenting or adoption rather than abortion.

Congratulations to Ray & Shirley Wieneke on their 50th wedding anniversary. The Wieneke’s were married on September 27, 1969, at St. Adrian.  There will be an open house celebration on Saturday, Oct. 19th at St. Anthony’s social hall from 3:00-4:30.

Ct. St. Bernard #886 is taking donations of new socks for all ages. A “tub” is located in the back of St. Anthony’s for the month of October. Thanks in advance for participating in “Socktober”!

The American Legion Auxiliary will hold their monthly meeting on the 3rd Wednesday, October 16th at 7:00 p.m.   Arlys Hoffman will provide the lunch and Christine Preuss will bring the BINGO prizes.

The Catholic Daughters of Ct. Madonna #839, Ct. St. Bernard #886 and Ct. Santa Maria #247 and Habitat for Humanity have launched a partnership to support efforts to build homes for families in need.  Each year, a house is built within the state of Minnesota with an estimated annual grant of $10,000. The funding of this Catholic Daughter grant is made possible by the annual Gummi Bear fundraising project.  Members of these courts will be handing out Gummi Bears after Mass on Saturday, October 19th and Sunday October 20th. Donations are appreciated.

The Lutmer sisters and sister-in-laws enjoyed a weekend together at the River House near St. James.  The gals enjoyed lunch at the Round Lake Winery and tour of the facility, attended the Saturday matinee performance of Mamma Mia! at the Chanhassen Dinner Theater, and did some shopping at the Odin Craft Mill. Those enjoying “sister” time were: Debby Wieneke, Deb Lutmer, and Patty Buysse all of Lismore; Lori Delano of Annandale; Linda (Roemeling)  Lutmer of Omaha, NE; Linda (Lutmer) Bartl of Aberdeen, SD; and Roxy Scholl (wife of Gary Lutmer) of St. James. Two birthdays, Linda Lutmer’s and Deb’s, were also celebrated.

Joyce Erdman attended the surprise birthday party for her grandson, Matthew Meyer, on Saturday at the Rushmore School.  Matthew’s family arranged the celebration to coincide with his hospitalization recovery. Those helping with the celebration and in attendance were his parents Peggy and Mark Meyer and sister Tasha and Vern Schutte, all of Rushmore; sister Alyssa Meyer and Logan Neyens, of Wilmont; Rod Erdman of Pipestone; Pam and Mark Luettel of Adrian; Gail Erdman and Randy Egenes; Mike Erdman and his grandson, Christian; Gerald and Audrey Pieper, and many other friends and neighbors.  They all enjoyed supper and a great time together.
