Amber Ezeani, along with her children, Dube, Amara, and Adonna have spent the past month in the home of her mother, Brenda Loosbrock.  Cel Ezeani recently arrived to drive the family back to their home in Attleboro, MA.

Thanksgiving Day dinner guests at the home of Joyce Erdman were her son Mike Erdman of Leota and his family: Jessica, Bob, Montana and Ezekiel Slinger of Adrian; Megan Erdman and friend Roberto, and Laura Schickling, all of Ellsworth; and Amber Erdman and Christian of Lismore.   Glenda Lancaster of Rushmore, and Allen Simpson, of Lismore, were also guests.  Newborn Lettie Kay, daughter of Jessica and Bob, was absent from the festivities.  She was born Wednesday, November 20th, weighing  5#10oz.   Lettie is in the NICU at Sanford for a while but doing very well.   She is Joyce’s 29th great-grandchild. Congratulations!

Let the Catholic Daughters help you with your holiday baking.  On Saturday, December 7, they will hold a bake sale before and after the 5:00 p.m. Mass at St. Anthony.  The Council of Catholic Women will also be serving a spaghetti supper following Mass that evening. It will be the last Mass at St. Anthony until the restoration project is finished.  Masses will be held in St. Kilian until spring 2020.

Emma Bender was baptized on Sunday, November 24, at the St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Brookings, SD.  Emma is the daughter of Kyle and Natalie (Lynn) Bender.  Sponsors were Adam and Samantha Voss of Adrian.  Jeff and Denise Lynn of Lismore, are Emma’s grandparents and

Bob and Jeannette Lynn are her great-grandparents.

A nice crowd attended the combined Thanksgiving Eve Ecumenical Worship Service held at the First Presbyterian Church along with families from St. Anthony’s Catholic Church.  Pastor Thomas Voigt and Pastoral Assistant Roxanne Kemper delivered messages of gratitude and thanks.  Groups from both churches provided musical selections. The First Presbyterian Youth Bell Choir did a musical selection on the bells.  A free will offering was taken for the Manna Food Pantry. Bars, coffee, and fellowship followed.

The State Bank of Lismore will host a Christmas Appreciation on Friday, December 6, from 10:00-2:00 with refreshments, goodies and door prizes.

Remember that St. Anthony’s 5:00 p.m. Mass will be held at St. Kilian, starting on December 14.  Mass will return to Lismore once the church painting is complete.

Jon Beek, grandson of Jackie Wieneke, is a member of the West Lyon Wildcats football team that recently won the Class 1A state championship at Cedar Falls, IA.  Jon is the son of Angie and Jason Beek of Inwood, IA.

The community offers sympathy to the family of Bob Wittry who died November 26th at the Adrian Country Living Cottages.  Bob served in the US Army, farmed near Lismore/Wilmont, and served on many community boards. He loved to dance, ride his motorcycle, and visit and reminisce with his friends.  Bob is survived by his three children: Shawn, Bobbi, Nicole and their families.  Blessed be his memory.

An open house wedding reception was held to honor Stephanie and Scott Skikovich on Friday, November 29, at the St. Columba Hall in Iona.  The couple was married earlier in Benton Harbor, Michigan. Stephanie is the daughter of Joe and Shaunda Weidert and the granddaughter of Jerome and Mary Weidert.  The couple will make their home in Canada. Congratulations, Stephanie and Scott!

Joyce Erdman helped Mark Meyer celebrate his 60th Birthday at the Carnaval Brazilian Grill in Sioux Falls, SD.   Mark’s wife Peggy Meyer and children Tasha and Vern Schutte of Rushmore; Alyssa Meyer and friend, Logan Neyens of Wilmont; and Matthew Meyer of Brandon, SD were also present for the party.  Happy birthday, Mark!
