 NOTICE OF APPLICATION FOR LIVESTOCK FEEDLOT PERMIT

Notice is hereby given per Minnesota Statutes 116.07, subd. 7(a), that Mark Slater will be applying to Nobles County and the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency for a permit to expand a feedlot with a capacity of 500 animal units or more.

The feedlot proposed to be expanded is located in the NE1/4 of Section 30 of Summit Lake Township, T103N, R41W, of Nobles County, Minnesota.

The existing feedlot currently has 300 head of finishing cattle housed in a combination of a total confinement, partial confinement and an open lot and 2520 head of nursery swine housed in total confinements for a total of 426 A.U.  The proposed expansion will consist of constructing an addition onto an existing total confinement building that will house an additional 450 head of finishing cattle.  After the expansion, the feedlot will consist of 2520 head of nursery swine and 750 head of finishing cattle for a total of 876 animal units.

The liquid manure will be stored in under-floor concrete pits and the solid manure will be stored in a manure pack. The feedlot will be owned by Mark Slater.

This publication shall constitute as notice to each resident and each owner of real property within 5,000 feet of the perimeter of the expanding feedlot as required by Minnesota State Law.
