Three medals for the Dragons at Redwood Valley Invite

The Dragons made the trek to Redwood Falls on Thursday, September 29 to compete at a smaller meet compared to the last few meets. The Redwood Valley course was a flatter course with some hills sprinkled in which led for fast times across the board for the Dragons.

The first medalist for the Dragons was in the combined Junior High Girls and Boys race, which was a 2,500 meter run. Medals were given out to the top 5 in the Junior High races. Abbey Leopold ran a great race for place 4th overall, of the 23 competing girls with a time of 12:31. Ashlee Christians also had a good race, coming in 12th place with a time of 13:21. On the boy’s side, newcomer Bruce Farinella cleared the course in 12:01, placing 11th overall in a tough race. William White-McLeise was 20th in 15:35.

Medals were awarded to the top ten varsity runners. Bullerman’s time was 21:08, a season best. Following Bullerman were Hiltyn Heitkamp and Gracia Elias. The pair worked very nicely through the course and both ran season best times of 23:28 and 23:30 respectively. They also placed 18th and 19th respectively. Junior Halle Heitkamp battled for 31st place with a time of 25:58 and that was seconds off her season best. Courtney Penning ran another personal best at 26:36, placing 34th. Annika Elias ran a solid race, getting through the course in 28:51 placing 47th.  The Dragons placed 6th as a team.
