ADRIAN NEWS 05-08-19

A  bridal shower was held in honor of Shaina Lonneman, daughter of Mark and Lori Lonneman, on Saturday, May 4th.  Guests were treated to egg bakes, rolls, muffins, coffee, juice.  Shaina received many beautiful gifts from the large crowd.  Shaina and Tyler Tycz will be married in August at St. Adrian Church.

The Dragons had an up and down week in sports this past week.  All teams were busy as the school year slowly starts to wind down and section competition begins in a couple of weeks.  On Thursday, May 9th, Track and Field, Golf and Varsity Softball are all away, while the MS Sb team is at home in Lismore.  On Friday, T&F is at Mountain Lake and baseball is at Minneota.  On Saturday, May 11 Bb is playing in the MCC Tournament and Sb is at the HLOF Tournament.  Monday, May 13th, the Golf team is at home, Bb is in Luverne and Softball is at home in Ellsworth.  On Tuesday, the Golf team is in Worthington, T&F is also in Worthington, Varsity Bb and MS Bb is at HLOF, while JV is at home and Sb is at home in Ellsworth.

The Cousins for a Cure Vendor show was held this past Saturday.  All the proceeds went to support the Cystic Fibrous Foundation.

Our deepest sympathies to the family of Jeff Wieneke.  Jeff passed away on Monday, April 29th at his home.  Blessed be the memory of Jeff Wieneke.

Kay Cox wishes to thank everyone for all of the thoughtful wishes on her 1st place poem in the Minnesota Catholic Daughters education contest.  The poem  entitled “The Nail” cannot be printed at this time because it is being sent to National Catholic Daughters for competition.

The Adrian High School classes of 1968 and 1969 are planning a joint 50th and 51st class reunion on July 19-20, 2019. Thought for the week:  People who believe and are positive are much healthier than those who are filled with fear, doubt and negativity.  Positive people age slower than negative ones and in fact can live longer.  That’s every reason to replace doubt with expectation.
