Adrian News 06-03-20

Another great weekend!  Wasn’t Saturday beautiful?  We’ve got to treasure the days with sunshine and no wind!  The grass and gardens are liking this weather, everything is so green.

This week sounds to be hot and possibly stormy.  What is spring without up and down temps and storms?

Lots of interesting things happening in our world- not just COVID-19.  With the horrible death of George Floyd, add the riots that have occurred since then, COVID has taken a back seat in the news.  Don’t forget that it is alive and well!  We have been hoping to go to the Twin Cities and visit family, but with all of the people in large groups, I’m thinking it will be at least a month before we can go.  At least we are able to cautiously begin to see others.

Some of the area churches are reopening for services.  The St. Adrian Parish Cluster is opening to 25% of capacity.  Zion Lutheran will open on June 7th with the same.  The Methodist Church remains closed at this time with services online.

Remember, the virus spreads through contact.  Outside and distanced, your chances of contacting the virus are significantly lower than inside a confined place.  You have to be in contact with someone who has the virus for at least an hour or so to get a good dose of it.  Social distance outside and you can get together with family and friends.  IF YOU ARE NOT COMFORTABLE-WEAR YOUR MASK.  Remember to keep your groups small.

Restaurants are slowly opening- outside dining in small groups.  Salons and barber shops have reopened with distancing in place.  Let’s pray that this all works and we can continue to get back to work and a little normalcy.

Sounds as though all of the local county fairs and the state fair have been canceled for this summer!  According to some of the 4-H members, they will still show their projects, but only for one day and without any spectators.  The events will be live-streamed for viewing.  More on that in the near future.

Please say a prayer for the Winselman family.  Josh was laid to rest on Friday.  I can not imagine how hard it is to go through a family illness and death and have to stay away.  Dingmann Funeral Home did a great job with the visitation and service  These are hard times for all of us.  The family still needs a hug and lots of prayers.

Let’s continue to keep prayers coming for all of those who need them.  Now we need to add the people affected by the rioting in the bigger cities.  We are really seeing some things we haven’t seen for a long time.  We need to see some positive things!

Thought for the Week:  It is easy enough to be pleasant, when life flows like a song, But the man worth while is the one who will smile, When everything goes dead wrong.  (taken from “Worth While” by Ella Wheeler Cox)

Have a great week and Happy June!
