Adrian News 10-31-18

Congratulations to all of the fall sports teams on a great season!  The football team was knocked out of tournament play by MCC.  The Cross Country team sported quite a few new best times, but didn’t qualify to go on to State.  The Volleyball team is still alive and faces Tracy, Milroy, Balaton Tuesday night.  Good luck Volleyball Ladies!

This is the last week for donating winter coats.  Items may be dropped at the Tony and Darla Parlsey home at 517 Maine Avenue.  Give that unused coat a new home!

Nine ladies from Adrian went Saturday morning for brunch at the 15th Annual Hospice Tour of Tables in Luverne.

The tables were fun to look at and the brunch was absolutely great!  Many of these ladies had not been to a Hospice brunch before.  Guests of Deb Kroon’s were Judy Honermann, Marcia Kunkel, Anita Hallum, Renee Wolf, Anna Wolf, Jill Wolf, Jeri Wiertzema and Mandy Wiertzema.

Mason Cox celebrated his 4th birthday with a party at his home on Sunday, October 21.  The guests were treated to a grill-out of hamburgers and the fixin’s, and of course birthday cake.  His grandparents were there; Dick and Laura Kruger, Al and Cindy Cox, and Marlys and Ed Nelson.  Great grandmothers Marie Kruger and Eileen Hokeness also attended.  Great-grandmother Kay Cox who had gone to the TwinCities was missing.  A great time was had by everyone!

Well the Vikings disappointed many people as they lost Sunday evening to the New Orleans Saints.  They missed quite a few opportunities to turn the game around.   They are home this next Sunday hosting the Detroit Lions.  Let’s hope for a better day!

With harvest still going strong, remember to give the farmers the room they need.  Keep praying for good weather.

Halloween is here!  Be on the watch for ghosts and gob-

lins on the street.  At least the weather is going to be decent for them!

The music department is holding their annual fall fruit and goodies sale.  If you haven’t been contacted call the high school office.

Bingo is scheduled at the Senior Dining Center for next Friday, Nov. 2nd.  Call ahead for reservations.

Only eight more weekends before Christmas!

Thought for the week: You’re blessed when you’re content with just who you are – no more, no less.  That’s the moment you find yourselves proud owners of everything that can’t be bought!

Have a great week!
