Adrian News 11-14-18

Congratulations to all who won terms as the result of Tuesday’s elections.  For Adrian there were no changes, but the surrounding towns will see new faces.  Good luck for the next couple of years!

The Adrian Ecumenical Thanksgiving Service will be held this year at St. Adrian Catholic Church on Tuesday, November 20 at 7:00 p.m. with Seminarian David Kruse leading worship and SALM Bob Ossefort giving the sermon.  This is a time for thanking God for all of our blessings. Everyone who wishes to worship with neighbors and friends is welcome to attend.

Cyril and Pat Henning often spoke of beginning an endowment fund to support adults and young people who wish to continue their work in the church.  Pat has now started the St. Francis Endowment Fund for the Parish Cluster.  Sonny and Pat were long time teachers in the Parish.  Thank you for such a beautiful gesture.

LuAnn and Ron Reisdorfer attended the funeral for C.J. Spartz in Osseo, MN this past week.  C.J. was 96 years old when he passed away.  It was a time for LuAnn and Ron to spend with relatives, reminiscing about the good old days.  C.J. left behind six children and a great number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  Blessed be the memory of C.J. Spartz.

Lisa Cox, wife of Mark Cox of Eden Prairie, MN has accepted the position of Community Life Coordinator at Pax Christi Catholic Church in Eden Prairie.  Mark and Lisa have been involved in preparing couples for marriage for the past fifteen years.  Kay Cox is a very proud mother-in-law.  Congratulations Lisa!

Alan and Cindy Cox were happy to report the Bloodmobile drive last Wednesday was a success.  They collect 56 units of blood.    Thank you to all donors for your dedication!

The AHS School play is scheduled for this weekend, November 16 and 17 beginning at 7:00 p.m. each evening.  “Under the Big Top”  is sure to be a laughter filled circus event.  Plan to come and support these young actors!

Duane Balster, age 61, formerly of Wilmont passed away Sunday, October 28, 2018, at his home.  Blessed be the memory of Duane Balster.

This week at the Senior Dining Center, $2 day is Thursday, November 15th.  Where can you eat for two bucks?  Also on Monday, November 19, they have cards and bingo after eating.  Remember to sign up the day before!

It sounds as if the cold will let up for a couple of days before getting cold again.  The reason for all this early cold is all the snow in Canada.  It could be a long winter!  Dress warm.

Thought for the week:  Take inventory of your personal standards.  do you define what’s okay by what others do, or what Jesus would do?
