Adrian Public Schools Weather Makeup Plan

Dear Parents and Guardians,

As you know, this year has been difficult in regards to weather. On Monday, February 25th, the Adrian School Board of Education approved the following plan to make up for the missed instructional days due to the extreme weather we have experienced.  Due to the length of our school day, we are well within the Minnesota Department of Education guidelines of the required hours of instruction.  Our focus is on adding minutes to our school day over the next few weeks to allow for instructional time during peak learning time, rather than adding student days at the end of the year.

•  Extend School Day from March 4th – April 26th by 30 minutes

•  MS/HS  First Bell – 7:55   Final Bell – 3:35

•  Elementary -Report to classrooms at 8:00  Dismiss at 3:40

•  April 22nd (Easter Monday) will be added as a Student Contact Day

•  March 15th will become a full student day rather than the scheduled early release

With this plan, morning bus times will remain the same, but our afternoon routes will run 20-25 minutes later.

With this plan, the last student day will be Friday, May 24th.  Teachers will report for additional professional development days beginning May 28th to fulfill their contract time to the district.

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us.

Thank you for your understanding and flexibility.
