Adrian Students Help Kids Against Hunger

0

The Adrian fourth and fifth grade students will be participating in the Kids Against Hunger event on September 29th at the Luverne High School.  This will be the third annual Kids Against Hunger event held in Luverne.  Volunteers will help pack meals for children in need all over the world.  Last years volunteers packed around 130,000 meals over a two day period.  Kids Against Hunger is a national program whose mission is to significantly reduce the number of hungry children in the United States and to feed starving children throughout the world. They pack and ship meals to starving children and their families in over 60 countries throughout the world.  Some of the bags packed by the Adrian students will go to local food banks to help families in need in our community.

The average cost per bag is $1.50, this includes the food products and additional supplies needed for shipping and shipping costs.  One bag will feed six people.  The Adrian fourth and fifth grade students are raising funds to be used for the meals they will be packing.
