A new sign, bench and landscaping greets visitors to the Bethany campus in Brandon, thanks to a local Boy Scout.
Colin Sachen, now 15, collected the Scouting organization’s highest honor – Eagle Scout – through his volunteer landscaping project at the senior living community. Sachen’s milestone honor in Scouting was recognized before family, friends and fellow Scouts during ceremonies held last month at Faith United Presbyterian Church.
But one Scout leader, a man who had an even more important role in Sachen’s life since the very beginning, sadly wasn’t in attendance to witness the proud moment.
