With points being at a premium, the Adrian Dragons needed to rely on their defense to get their second consecutive home win and third win of the season, as they defeated the Mountain Lake Area Wolverines 38-26. It keeps the Dragons Red Rock Conference record unblemished at 2-0 and moves their overall record to 3-1. The Adrian girls will continue in conference play this Thursday when they travel to Edgerton to battle the E-Gals of Southwest Christian before playing in the Tracy Holiday tournament on Friday and Saturday.

The visitors grabbed the opening points of the game before Kaitlyn Christians dropped in a fifteen footer to knot the score at two apiece. Another pair of freethrows was again, answered by a Christians fieldgoal. MLA would make their third freethrow to claim a 4-5 lead only to see Mikayla Jeffers get into the scoring act by making a three-point basket from the top of the key to give her team their first lead of the night at 7-5.

It was a short lived Adrian advantage as the Wolverines came right back to match the Jeffers three-pointer with one of their own. Christians continued with a hot shooting hand by making two of two charity tosses to make it a 9-8 Adrian lead. MLA would take their last lead of the contest when they took a 9-10 lead at the 9:13 mark of the opening period.
