Edward G. Lenz, age 90, died Friday, June 24, 2016 at Parkview Manor Nursing Home in Ellsworth, MN. He was born February 22, 1926 in rural Adrian, MN; to parents Louis and Mary (Kemper) Lenz. Ed attended school at St. Anthony Catholic School in Lismore. After his schooling he lived at home and worked various jobs. He then started farming in the Lismore area.

   Ed was united in marriage to Bernice Bodde on April 20, 1949 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Lismore. They made their home southwest of Lismore farming for twenty-five years and then the family moved to Lismore and he worked as the manager of the Lismore Telephone Company for twenty years.

   He was a lifelong member of St. Anthony Catholic Church and was a Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus, a member of the Catholic Order of Foresters, Eagles Club and the Nobles County Historical Society. Ed served on the board of directors of the Lismore Telephone Company, Lismore/Luverne Oil Company, Five Star Fertilizer Company, FmHA and the ASC. He enjoyed fishing, antiques, woodworking, and spending time with his family and friends.

   Ed is survived by his children, Janet Lenz, Sioux Falls, SD; Vickie (Tom) Rost, Ivanhoe, MN; Larry (Deb) Lenz, Adrian, MN; Brian (Pat) Lenz, Wilmont, MN; and Lois (John) Gerber, McCook Lake, SD; 14 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and a brother, Earl (Rita) Lenz, Lismore, MN..

   He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Bernice in 1989, son Gary Lenz, granddaughter Emma Gerber, step grandson Leigh Surdez, four sisters and four brothers.

   Visitation will be Tuesday from 5-7 pm at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Lismore and also on Wednesday at the church one hour prior to the service. The Funeral Mass will be Wednesday at 10:30 am at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Lismore with Father Andrew Beerman officiating. Burial will be at the parish cemetery. The Dingmann Funeral Home in Adrian will be in charge of arrangements.
