I must thank everyone who has given us a donation thus far. THANK YOU!
On the check-out desk in the library is a red bucket in which people can place change and paper cash. So many people apologize “I wish I could give more, but this is what I have at the moment.” They need not apologize – we are thrilled with any and all donations!
People don’t always believe me, but I mean it when I say, “no donation is too small!” This is abundantly true. From the children who have been coming in and donating their allowances or “special chores” money, to people on fixed incomes, to students working to raise money for college, and to people who are struggling from a particularly difficult year, I repeat:
No donation is too small and EVERY donation is deeply appreciated.
Would you like to know how those small donations have added up? So far, from our little donation bucket at the library, we have raised $477.28! That is a LOT of money.
Lately, we have been receiving donations of $1, $5, $10, $20…. Every donation, added to the whole, has gotten our fundraiser to where it is today – more than $60,000. Small steps overcome big hurdles. No contribution is insignificant or small.
When this fundraiser started, I really had no idea what to expect. I worried – could we raise $100? $1,000? I relied on the generosity of people, and I believed that we could raise some money. I am in disbelief and wonderment that people, organizations, and businesses have been so very, very kind and generous. I am grateful to all of those who have given what they can. Together, the people of this area and those beyond Nobles county have made what will be a lasting impact on our library.
