Lismore News 09-23-20

Congratulations to Joyce Erdman on the arrival of a new great-granddaughter on Friday, September 18.  Quinn Ruthie Jo is the daughter of Randy and Marissa Erdman of Lake Wilson.  She is welcomed home by her siblings, Roland, Graham, and Roree.  Quinn’s grandparents are Rod and Ruth Erdman of Pipestone and Kathy Wolfgram of Champlin. Quinn’s other great-grandparents are Yvonne Leonard of Minneapolis and the late Earl Erdman. Enjoy that new baby, Joyce!

What a pleasant surprise to flip the page of the September ETC. Magazine and see former Lismore resident, Mary Alice Lutmer!  Mary’s blue eyes and smile lit up the ad for the city of Luverne; recommending the city as a good place to retire.  Retirement looks good on Mary!

St. Adrian Cluster will be hosting the Sacrament of Confirmation for our parishes and the parishes of St. Catherine/ Luverne and St. Leo/ Pipestone on Sunday, September 27 at 2:00 PM.  Because of pandemic regulations, only the confirmands and six of their guests will be allowed to attend. Thank you for your understanding.

Pat Thiel, a former rural Lismore resident and Adrian High School Class of 1971 graduate, passed away on September 7 at the age of 67.  She was a Distinguished Professor of Chemistry at Iowa State University, and known for her research on atomic-scale structures and processes on solid surfaces. Pat is survived by her husband, Jim Evans, and daughters Amanda and Ellen.  Pat left a message encouraging women to seek second opinions on breast cancer diagnoses, preferably at a major cancer center.  Blessed be her memory.
