Megan Sauer competed in the Chicago Marathon on October 13th. One of the largest marathons in the country, Megan was one of more than 45,000 runners! She placed 42nd in her age group and was the 518th female finisher.  Her time was 3:14:32 and was the 3929th marathon finisher.  Her father, Barry, and sisters Anna, Alyssa, and Morgan were there to cheer her on.  They enjoyed visiting the Field museum, the Navy pier, and the famous Bean in Millennium Park.  The Sauers were guests of Mike and Julie Diekmann, who live near Chicago.  Congratulations, Megan!

Joyce Erdman helped her twin great-grandsons, Jaxon and Nolan Jonas, celebrate their 8th birthdays with supper at Pizza Ranch in Tea, SD on Friday.  The twins are the sons of Jason Jonas of Tea. Other guests included: Samantha, Harper and Marshall Miller; Grandpa Mark Jonas of Garretson, SD; Grandma Gail Erdman of Ireton, IA and Randy Engenes of Hawarden, IA; Mike Erdman of Leota; Justin, Meredith, Brooke and Claire Jonas of Sheldon, IA; Elliot and Danielle, Peyton, Abbie, Callie, and Jewel  Apland of Chester, SD; and Mike and Denise Miller of Harrisburg, SD.  A fun time spent with family!

Barry and Kerry Sauer, and daughter Anna Tenney were in Mankato last weekend to watch Morgan, Alissa and Megan run a half marathon in the 10th annual Mankato Marathon this past weekend.  Way to go girls!

The Lismore CCW, along with the Diocese of Winona and Catholic Charities, is supporting the Baby Bottle Campaign.   Baby bottles are available in the back of all three churches within the parish cluster. Please fill a bottle with your spare change and return it at the end of this month. Donations from this campaign assist women who choose parenting or adoption rather than abortion.

Weekend guests in the Dave and Deb Lutmer home were Deb’s sister, Carol Giroux of Wheaton, and friend, Karen Wenz of Hector.  The gals gather on this weekend each year to celebrate the October birthdays of Deb, Karen, and the late Vicki Dew.  The highlights of the weekend were the ETC. Women’s Expo in Sioux Falls, the performance of “Calendar Girls” at the Pipestone Performing Arts Center, lunch at the Lismore Bar & Grill, and spending time with Will, McCall, Sutton and Cutler Lutmer of Sioux Falls and Cody Lutmer.

The “Soctober” collection is winding down.  This will be the last week for donations. A “tub” is located in the back of St. Anthony’s.  Ct. St. Bernard #886 thanks you in advance for your generosity.

Mary (Krogman) Hoffman of Sioux City, IA spent the weekend with her sister, Ruth and Bruce Lutmer on their acreage near Leota.

Congratulations to Jeff and Denise Lynn on their new granddaughter, Emma Lynn, who was born on October 15th to Kyle and Natalie Bender of Brookings, SD.  Emma is welcomed home by her older brother, Eli.  Her paternal grandparents are Jay Bender of Brookings and Lisa Lacher of San Antonio, TX. Great grandparents are Bob and Jeannette Lynn and the late John and Eileen Christians.

The Red Cross Bloodmobile will be in Lismore on Tuesday, November 5th from 2-7 p.m. at the American Legion Hall. Please mark your calendars and go online to register for an appointment.  Of course, walk-in’s are always welcome! www.redcrossblood.org.

Congratulations to Mike and Melissa Einck of rural Wilmont on the birth of their daughter, Mabrey Jo, who arrived on October 13th.  Mabrey joins older sister Mari at home and has a guardian angel sister, Molly.   Grandparents are Jim and Kris Weidert of Lismore, and Ron and Janelle Einck of Iona.  Great grandparents are Jerome and Mary Weidert of Lismore and Bess Lingen of Tyler.

Everyone is invited to pray the rosary with Ct. St. Bernard #886 on Wednesdays in October at 6:30 p.m. at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church.

Joyce Erdman helped her great-grandson, Ezekiel, celebrate his 2nd birthday on Sunday at the Pizza Ranch in Luverne, along with his parents, Jessica and Bob Slinger and brother, Montana, all of Adrian.  Other guests included Grandpa Mike Erdman of Leota and his friend, Brenda; Grandparents Jose and Lori Mejia of Worthington; Grandparents Michael and Tracy Slinger of Menominee, WI; Val and Dalton Slinger, Quinn Oakland and Natalie Meyeraan, all of Fulda; Amber Erdman and Christian and Alan Simpson, all of Lismore; Laura and Colin Schickling and Megan Erdman and her friend, all of Ellsworth. Joyce is blessed to have a big family who loves getting together!!
