A short lived rain shower met the Adrian Cross Country team as they walked the Tracy Country Club course. The day did dry up for racing for the Dragons in the late afternoon. The 1.25 miles junior high race, 2.5 mile junior varsity and 3 mile varsity race, figure 8 course, allowed many to record seasonal and personal bests.

Both junior high teams were up first with a short staggered start. The boys began and a quick minute and fifteen seconds later the girls. Two boys ran, Brody Loosbrock and Josh Barr followed by three ladies, Hiltyn Heitkamp, Ashlee Christians and Abbey Leopold.

Brody blistered to an eighth place, 7:49 time, just edged out of sixth by two seconds. He is really showing promise for the future. Josh had a stellar day too, posting his best time ever. His extra work this fall helped him post a 10:28 76th placing. He beat out 11 other runners in the 87 member race, another personal best.

Hiltyn led the way in the “next” race nearly earning a top ten ribbon with a 12th place, 9:15 time. Hiltyn is poised to challenge for varsity status. Ashlee continues to impress with a 9:50 time. That gave her a 24th place spot out of the 58 runners. Abbey is improving, also posting her best time of 10:23 48th place finish.
