Moe-ObitMaurice “Moe”  E. Erlandson, age 91, of Adrian, died Sunday July 31, 2016 at Sanford Luverne Hospice Cottage, surrounded by his family. He was born January 14, 1925, in Adrian, MN; to Carl and Leila (Smith) Erlandson. He attended school in Adrian and graduated in 1943.

Maurice married Elaine Springman on February 14, 1950 at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church, in Wilmont. Together they have two daughters and seven sons. They lived on the farm until 1988 when they moved to a new home in Adrian.

He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. But the passion that he had for farming for over 75 years was incredible! He loved to take daily rides and check out the farms right up until the very end.

Maurice is survived by two daughters and son-in-law, Margie Martin, Denver, CO; and Jane and Tom Larson, Rushmore; seven sons and daughters-in-law. Tom and Carol Erlandson, Spearfish, SD; Glenn and Lila Erlandson Rushmore; Paul Erlandson Rushmore; Dean (special friend, Myra) Erlandson, Rushmore; Mark and Kristi Erlandson, Parker, Co; Karl and Cheryl Erlandson, Lakewood, CO; and Lane and Carmen Erlandson, Rushmore; sixteen grandchildren, Nick (Erin) Martin, Michael Martin. Eric (Michelle) Erlandson, Evan (Lindsey) Erlandson, Mindy (Ryan) Farsdale, Nathan (Abby) Erlandson, Carmen (Jared) Henriksen, Darren (Angie) Erlandson, Derek (Jodi) Erlandson, Hannah Erlandson, Grant Erlandson, Andy (Laura) Larson, Kristen Larson, Abby ( Mitchell) Lynn, Brenna (Dan) Kramer, Kayla Erlandson; eighteen great grandchildren; one brother, Eugene (June) Erlandson, Worthington; three sisters, Eileen Kahovec, St. Louis, MO; Kathryn (Al) Ell, Meza, AZ; Joanne (Jack) Smith, Sioux Falls, SD.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and brothers, Laverne, Russel and James.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 4-8 pm at the Dingmann Funeral Home, in Adrian, with parish prayers at 8 pm. Visitation also from 9:30 to 10:15 am Thursday at the funeral home. Funeral Mass will be 10:30 am Thursday at St. Adrian Catholic Church, in Adrian, officiated by Fr. Andrew Beerman. Burial will be in the St. Adrian Cemetery.
