The Adrian Elementary Special Education program has received a donation from the St. Kilian Misfits for the last two years. Each year the St. Kilian Misfit actors or actresses’ choose a charity, or organization to donate proceeds to. Tory Bohlke, a Misfit actress for over 5 years, and a paraprofessional within the Elementary Special Eduction department decided upon this program to donate her proceeds to.  The donation of money also comes with a suggestion of usage. The first donation from Mrs. Bohlke, was utilized for an indoor swing for students who have various sensory needs throughout their school day.  This swing is versatile and has provided many sensory breaks and smiles over the past year. The most recent donation of $450 was used towards the purchase of a handicap accessible swing which is located on the north playground at the elementary school. This is a nice added benefit, not only for the school, but for the community as well.  Those involved in the final swing purchase felt it was a perfect match with the new handicapped accessible playground.

The preschool children have also had the opportunity to benefit from the generosity and hard work of these Misfit members.  A former donation from previous years include an i-pad purchase for the Kids Connection preschool program. The designation and donation of money towards the purchase of these items is truly heartwarming.
