On Saturday, Feb. 17, the Adrian High School Speech team placed eighth overall in the competition of 20 schools at the Redwood Valley Speech Invitational..
Winning awards for Adrian were Alexia Kemper, second in Extemporaneous Reading; Sabdi Bravo, third in Informative Speaking; Felicity Alvarado, fifth in Great Speeches; Jayda Castaway, seventh in Original Oratory; Maritza Beltran, fifth in Poetry and Sara Knips, fourth in Prose.
The varsity hosts a meet on Feb. 24 at the Adrian High School. Twenty schools and 320 participants are expected for the meet.
